First of all, we need to say that Hitachi tried over again into their lineup models, to make the P50S601 nice-looking thanks to the gloss acrylic black in the panel’s bezel. There is a speaker bar right below the panel, which delivers MTS stereo SAP with dbx, simulated surround, bass boosted sound through a 20-watt speaker to enhance the home theater experience.

Hitachi took great care with the image quality, besides the P50S601 Ultravision® Plasma HDTV utilizes the Full HD1080 resolution standard (1920 x 1080) and has extremely sharp detail with over 2.1 million individual picture elements, it also has the PictureMaster™ HD IV, this proprietary digital video processor will optimizes the picture performance of all incoming source material with several image treatments like MPEG Noise Reduction, Dynamic Contrast, Dynamic Histogram Processing and more.

These materials can be inserted on the TV through many options given by Hitachi, including 3 HDMI SimplayHD™ 1080p Compatible Inputs - two of them on the rear of TV and one is on the front panel – also 2 Component inputs and 4 AV Inputs (1 being on the front panel) are available. All these inputs allow to accommodate a broad range of high-end analog sources, including cable and satellite receivers, DVD players, VCRs and video games.

Film is composed of 24 individual frames per second, while TV’s display 60 frames per second. This inconsistency of frame rates necessitates film to be converted to video using a technique called 3:2 pulldown. Hitachi’s PictureMaster HD-IV processor uses 3:2 pulldown correction and film enhancement to reconstruct the original film frame to achieve the highest resolution possible. The resulting high definition frame is perfectly matched to the resolution of the display.
